Handcrafted fabric, cotton, Nui Shibori, indigo-dyed, wave pattern, blue

Shades of blue echo one another and blend into one another, evoking the sea, its calm, and the play of light on its surface. Here, each pattern is the result of handcrafted strokes: the fabric was carefully sewn and then gathered before being dyed.

Shibori is a traditional Japanese fabric-dyeing technique in which the fabric is folded, sewn, or tied before being dyed. No two pieces of fabric are exactly alike. 

Designed by Cecile Au Zen:

– Size: 158 cm x 54 cm
– Color: indigo blue
– Care: machine wash on gentle cycle with mild detergent
– Each piece is one-of-a-kind

Production time:

Several hours of handcrafted work, divided among the shibori process (hand-stitching followed by tying), fabric printing, and rinsing and drying times.

Ingredients:

– 100% cotton, 180 g/m²
– Hand-dyed with indigo
