In Japanese, the title *Go En* evokes encounters, connections, and the circumstances that bring people and events together. Associated with “synchronicities,” it suggests those unexpected correspondences that give rise to an encounter, a work of art, or a unique moment.
Presented as part of the exhibition “Écrire la lumière en bleu,” “Go En and Synchronicities” is a textile piece composed of Japanese panels (noren) crafted from an exceptional fabric brought back from Japan.
The fabric is treated using two traditional processes: cyanotype, which captures light in shades of deep blue, and roketsu-zome, a Japanese wax-resist dyeing technique.
As an artistic textile piece, each panel bears the nuances and irregularities inherent to artisanal processes, making the entire piece a one-of-a-kind creation.
