This zafu was born out of a moment of reading and silence, inspired by Eckhart Tolle’s book*The Power of Now*. The idea came naturally: to create an object that could support meditation while, through its very presence, reminding us of the simple beauty of the moment. The creative process begins in nature. Plants—wildflowers, grasses, and delicate leaves—are carefully selected and then placed on the linen fabric. Under the sun’s light, using the ancientcyanotype technique, their silhouettes emerge in a deep, vibrant blue. Each imprint thus becomes the fleeting trace of a specific moment: an encounter between light, plant, and fabric. Each cushion is thereforeunique, featuring a one-of-a-kind botanical composition. The patterns evoke the gentle landscapes of the Bordeaux hinterland and invite you to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with yourself. An object for meditation, for breathing… and for remembering that beauty already resides in the present moment. – Filling:organic spelt for natural, comfortable support

I'm particularly tall—would this pillow work for me?

Yes. Thanks to its larger seat surface (38 cm in diameter, compared to 30 cm for standard models), the XL version is particularly well-suited for taller people or those looking for more space and comfort while sitting.

Where does the name “zafu” for this cushion come from?

Today, the word “zafu” is often used in French and other languages to refer to any round meditation cushion, even when it is not used in a specifically Zen context.

The word “zafu” comes from Japanese: (za), meaning “seat,” “to sit,” or “seating,” and (fu), which originally referred to a marsh plant whose fibers were used to make cushions and mats.
