Cast-iron teapot cozy — Cyanotype on linen * Each one is unique

Without being alike

A cozy tea nook—like a little invitation to embrace diversity.

This design blends the delicate imprint of sweet woodruff with that of maple leaves. Two plants with very different shapes, brought together in a single composition. Each piece is unique and leaves room for the unexpected—the interplay of material, light, and craftsmanship.

Place this on your teapot to keep your tea warm, but also as a subtle reminder at the heart of your ritual: We don’t have to be alike to find our place.

“Sans se ressembler” evokes the freedom to be different without having to compare ourselves to others. We can follow different paths, have our own unique forms, rhythms, and sensibilities, without one of us needing to become like the other in order to have value.

This collection was born out of a personal reflection inspired by reading “The Courage to Be Disliked” by Ichiro Kishimi and Fumitake Koga.
This book, a true phenomenon in Asia, prompted me to question how others see us, the search for approval, and the freedom to follow one’s own path.
I wanted to translate these reflections into simple, everyday objects, where plants become a metaphor for our own way of being in the world.

PLANTS, THE SUN, AND CYANOTYPE

Each piece begins with the selection of plants. For this design, sweet woodruff and maple leaves were combined to create a dialogue between two different plant forms.

Using the cyanotype technique, their imprints appear in various shades of blue, creating a composition that is at once delicate, organic, and unpredictable.
Gesture, light, and material all contribute to the creative process. Variations in placement, light intensity, and texture make each print a unique piece.

The cozy is crafted from natural linen, chosen for its lively texture and authentic character. Its irregularities and soft feel lend the piece a natural and warm sensation.

More than just an accessory, this cozy accompanies a moment of stillness over tea: an invitation to slow down, to embrace what is present, and to remember that it is not necessary to choose everything, control everything, or transform everything.

A handcrafted piece designed to be useful, poetic, and meaningful.
